Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a self-contained Special Education Teacher, supporting middle school students in a resource room setting. This full-time assignment runs from August 31, 2026, through June 25, 2027, providing you the chance to make a significant impact in a school community and empower students with diverse needs.
Your expertise as a Special Education Teacher will be key in developing individualized learning strategies and ensuring each student receives the support they need to grow and succeed. As an onsite educator, you’ll collaborate with colleagues and families to foster a positive, inclusive environment that celebrates every learner’s achievements.
What you’ll need to be successful:
- A valid Michigan teaching license with a Special Education endorsement (please submit your certification with your application)
- Previous teaching experience with special education students, ideally in a resource room or self-contained classroom
- Strong understanding of middle school curriculum and ability to adapt content for diverse learners
- Excellent communication, classroom management, and collaboration skills
- Organizational skills and a commitment to tracking student progress and IEP goals
Role responsibilities will include:
- Delivering individualized and small group instruction according to IEP requirements
- Creating and implementing lesson plans aligned with students’ needs
- Communicating effectively with parents, staff, and related service providers
- Participating in IEP meetings and student progress reviews
- Maintaining a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
