Litigation Docketing Specialist – Temporary

LHH is seeking experienced Litigation Docketing Specialists for a fully remote, temporary opportunity supporting a busy litigation docketing team. There are three openings, and the team is looking to move quickly.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced litigation docketing professional who is comfortable managing a high-volume workload, working independently, and accurately calculating deadlines across California and federal courts.

• Schedule: Must be available to work West Coast/Pacific Time hours
• Start Date: ASAP
• Status: Temporary with a strong likelihood of overtime
• Reporting To: Litigation Docketing Manager

About the Role

The Litigation Docketing Specialist will provide high-volume docketing and calendaring support for attorneys and legal teams handling federal, state, and agency matters. The successful candidate will be able to quickly step into an active workload and help reduce a significant backlog.

This position requires exceptional attention to detail, strong knowledge of litigation deadlines and court rules, and the ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.

Responsibilities

• Enter and maintain litigation deadlines and case information in CompuLaw Vision
• Calculate deadlines for California state courts and federal courts
• Review pleadings, court documents, correspondence, and case team requests to identify and calculate deadlines
• Provide accurate and timely calendaring support to attorneys and legal staff
• Respond to attorney and staff questions regarding court rules and deadlines
• Conduct jurisdictional research and summarize findings for case teams
• Create and distribute deadline reports for review and confirmation
• Perform quality-control checks to ensure the accuracy of docket entries
• Identify and escalate potential issues to senior docketing staff or the Litigation Docketing Manager
• Maintain compliance with established docketing procedures and best practices
• Stay current with California, federal, and general litigation rules
• Assist with a high-volume workload and work overtime as needed

Qualifications

• 2+ years of litigation docketing experience within a law firm
• CompuLaw Vision experience is required
• California state court docketing experience is required
• Strong understanding of litigation procedures, court rules, deadlines, and legal terminology
• Experience calculating complex litigation deadlines
• Ability to work effectively in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong analytical, organizational, and critical-thinking skills
• Resourceful and able to independently research and resolve issues
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
• Ability and willingness to work West Coast hours
• Flexibility to work significant overtime as workload demands

Preferred Qualifications

• Large law firm experience
• Experience with additional rules-based calendaring systems, such as Milana
• Paralegal certificate, college degree, or equivalent relevant experience
• Strong Microsoft Office skills
• Extensive familiarity with California litigation rules and procedures

Hourly: $30-37/hr
