This position is located onsite at our rehabilitation hospital in Poughkeepsie, a vibrant city nestled in the Hudson Valley. Key Responsibilities

• Assist licensed physical therapists in the delivery of individualized treatment plans tailored to meet the unique needs of each patient.
• Provide hands-on therapy techniques under supervision, including therapeutic exercises, modalities, and manual therapy to promote patient recovery.
• Educate patients on their rehabilitation protocols, ensuring they understand the significance of prescribed exercises and activities.
• Monitor patient progress meticulously and maintain accurate documentation of treatment sessions in accordance with facility and regulatory standards.
• Work as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team, collaborating with physicians, occupational therapists, and other professionals to deliver cohesive and comprehensive patient care.
• Utilize trigger point therapy and other manual techniques as required, based on patient assessments and treatment plans.
• Engage in occupational health initiatives, supporting workplace wellness programs and promoting injury prevention strategies.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our patients range from children to seniors, and they present a variety of orthopedic conditions, including post-surgical rehabilitation, sports injuries, and chronic pain management. Our PTA will work closely with these individuals, guiding them through recovery processes and encouraging them to achieve their personal health goals in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• A minimum of an Associate's Degree in Physical Therapy Assistance from an accredited program.
• A current, active Physical Therapist Assistant state license.
• A minimum of 2 years of professional experience as a PTA.
• Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, rehabilitation modalities, and medical terminology.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in an orthopedic rehabilitation setting is preferred.
• Proficient skill set in manual therapy techniques and patient education.

Compensation and Benefits
