Director of Accounting (Administrative) JOB FUNCTION / PURPOSE The Position is Responsible for understanding of Governmental Accounting principles, processes and standards (best practices) - Hands on experience with performing daily, monthly, annual governmental transactions (Governmental accounting experience is required and can be located anywhere in Florida). PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Full understanding of Governmental Accounting principles, processes and standards (best practices) - Hands on experience with performing daily, monthly, annual governmental transactions. Management experience - Minimum experience of managing at least 5 people. Willingness to travel Experience presenting in front of Boards/Commissions Ability to teach/ train on governmental principles High energy individual Well organized Tech-savvy (able to pick up accounting software) Other duties as assigned. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS Education/Experience: BA/BS in Accounting, Finance or Business. MBA preferred. 10+ years of Municipal / governmental accounting experience. Licenses/Certifications: Certified Public Accounting License Preferred. Technical: Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Communication: Communicates clearly & professionally.
