Position Overview

Title: Foreman

Reports to: President

In this role, the Foreman shall supervise Electricians, Journeyman, and Electrical Apprentices while troubleshooting, installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems and equipment.

Responsibilities and Essential Duties:

Essential duties include, but are not limited to the following:

• Use appropriate tools, relevant plans, and written and verbal instructions to service, install, replace, inspect, and test electrical systems, equipment, and components, and to detect and resolve malfunctions and deficiencies.
• Diagnose causes of electrical problems or failures for the purpose of identifying equipment and/or system repairs.
• Interpret electrical and mechanical schematics and drawings.
• Install, maintain, and repair electrical services, wiring systems, related switches, distribution panels and outlet boxes, and a wide variety of electrical fixtures.
• Plan, organize, and oversee electrical installations and repairs in residential and commercial properties following all applicable electrical codes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
• Supervise a team of electricians and provide guidance and training as needed, relevant to general procedures, safety procedures, internal controls, and machine operations.
• Ensures that work is performed efficiently with a minimum amount of disruption and inconvenience.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Clients, and other contractors to ensure timely project completion.
• Keep accurate records of work performed and materials used.
• Maintains tools, equipment, and a clean work area.
• Inspect jobs upon completion to ensure area is clean.

Safety

• Exhibit commitment to a safe workplace and worksite.
• Properly wear and utilize PPE as required for every job.
• Maintain applicable trainings or certifications as required.
• Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHA) before starting work, if applicable.
• Complete Pre-Task Plans (PTP) where required.
• Report any HSE violations and unsafe findings to Safety personnel.
• Notify person in charge of any PPE infractions by personnel, subcontractors, or anyone else onsite.
• Notify person in charge or Director of Safety immediately in the event of an incident, accident, near-miss, if an OSHA/EPA/Country official arrives on-site or when a unique hazard arises.
• Consult with Director of Safety during job-site observations and audits to review and evaluate any identified safety observations or recommendations.

Qualifications and Other Skills and Abilities:

• Diploma or degree with a minimum of ten (10) years’ experience and proficient knowledge of electrical systems, equipment, and safety regulations.
• Proven experience as an electrician in residential and commercial settings.
• Proficient in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to supervise, oversee, train, and coach the Electrical Apprentices and Journeyman.
• Ability to coordinate and supervise projects as assigned.
• Excellent problem-solving and problem resolution skills.
• Ability to be flexible with tasks on hand, multi-task, and prioritize.
• Ability to learn quickly, follow instructions, and work safely with minimal instructions.
• Must have OSHA 30 training (provided).
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screening.

Essential Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

• Ability to work in an environment which may include fumes, odors, chemicals, sawdust, and ash.
• Ability to work in an environment with noises in the range of 30-85 db.
• Ability to lift or push up to thirty (30) pounds, or in excess thereof, with the use of proper equipment or assistance.
• Ability to use hand tools safely.
• Ability to use electric tools safely.
• Ability to walk up and down steps, climb ladders, staging and scaffolding and on uneven ground.
• Ability to bend, twist, reach, stretch and work in tight spaces.
• Ability to drive a motor vehicle.
