Director of Sales Marketing

We are seeking a results-driven Director of Sales Marketing to lead sales growth, customer acquisition and marketing initiatives for a growing home improvement retail operation. This role will be responsible for driving revenue, increasing customer traffic, improving inventory turnover and maximizing margins across multiple home improvement categories. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on leader with strong experience in retail sales, business development, sales operations and local marketing. Key Responsibilities: Develop and execute sales strategies to drive revenue and customer growth. Lead and mentor sales and customer service teams, including hiring, coaching and performance management. Establish sales goals, KPIs and performance expectations. Monitor sales performance, revenue trends, margins and inventory turnover. Develop pricing strategies and identify opportunities to improve profitability. Oversee sales operations, forecasting and pipeline management. Develop and execute local marketing and promotional campaigns. Manage digital and traditional advertising initiatives. Increase store traffic through community partnerships, events and local outreach. Ensure consistent messaging across in-store signage, social media and other marketing channels. Analyze sales and customer data to identify trends and growth opportunities. Maintain a strong customer experience and resolve customer issues effectively. Collaborate with leadership on business growth initiatives and special events. Support community‑focused programs and outreach initiatives. Qualifications: Proven experience in sales leadership, business development or retail management. Strong track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets. Experience with sales operations, forecasting, pricing and performance metrics. Demonstrated experience hiring, coaching and developing teams. Strong customer service and relationship‑building skills. Experience in retail, home improvement, furniture, flooring, appliances, hardware or building materials is highly preferred. Experience in retail or home improvement sectors. Proficiency with CRM and POS systems. Familiarity with local marketing, social media, and community outreach. Strong analytical skills for interpreting sales data and KPIs. Excellent communication, organization, and problem‑solving abilities. Ability to work on‑site in Dubuque, IA.
