Executive Sous Chef

Altair

Altair is seeking an experienced Interim Sous Chef to join our team for a 3–4 month assignment covering a maternity leave, with the potential for a permanent position based on performance and business needs.

This is a hands-on leadership role working alongside the Executive Chef in a fast-paced, seasonal kitchen focused on quality, consistency, and teamwork.

Salary: $90,000 annually (prorated for the term)

Responsibilities
  • Lead AM and PM service shifts
  • Manage and work the line during service
  • Daily prep and production
  • Fish and meat butchery
  • Ordering and inventory
  • Assist with banquet and private event execution
  • Maintain organization, sanitation, and quality standards
  • Support, train, and motivate the kitchen team
Qualifications
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Previous Sous Chef experience in a high-volume, scratch kitchen
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and lead by example
  • Flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
