High‑Mix Manufacturing Scheduler & Expedite Lead

Location: Northeast, Ohio

About the opportunity: Kintara is partnering with a premier precision manufacturer that engineers and builds complex components for aerospace, defense, medical, automation, and advanced industrial markets. In this role, you’ll be the connective tissue between planning and the factory floor—owning schedules, clearing bottlenecks, and ensuring customers receive what they need, when they need it.

A day in the life

You start by opening the ERP (Epicor experience is a plus) to release the right mix of work orders, keeping 6–8+ weeks of executable work queued for the floor. A quick scan of the sales order backlog helps you recalibrate priorities and fine‑tune sequencing and quantities. You huddle with the Master Planner and Production Supervisors to align on the day’s must‑hits, then walk WIP to spot jobs flirting with risk. A supplier delay? You loop in Purchasing. A process deviation? You connect Engineering and Quality. Throughout the day, you expedite critical work centers, maintain pristine ERP data, and update Excel trackers so leadership and Customer Support have accurate status and ship dates. You close the loop in a daily production meeting with crisp, actionable updates—and log improvement ideas before heading out.

What you’ll own

• Release and manage production jobs in ERP to sustain 6–8+ weeks of work on the floor.
• Oversee the open sales order backlog with accurate job status and operation tracking.
• Make daily planning calls: prioritize, sequence, adjust quantities, and balance workloads.
• Align production priorities with the Master Planner and Production Supervisors to meet delivery commitments.
• Track WIP and flag jobs at risk of missing schedule requirements—then act.
• Expedite critical jobs to minimize delays and protect customer commitments.
• Communicate schedule risks, delays, and job status to operations leadership and peers.
• Keep ERP data clean and current for full visibility and schedule integrity.
• Use Excel and reporting tools to visualize performance, backlog, and priorities.
• Collaborate with Purchasing on material shortages, supplier delays, and inventory issues.
• Coordinate with Engineering and Quality on holds, deviations, and process concerns.
• Support Customer Support with accurate status and realistic shipment expectations.
• Recommend process improvements to boost schedule performance and efficiency.
• Contribute clear updates in daily production meetings.

What you bring

• 3+ years in production planning, scheduling, expediting, or production control in manufacturing.
• Hands‑on ERP experience managing production, work orders, MRP, job releases, and WIP tracking (Epicor preferred).
• Background in high‑mix, low‑to‑medium volume environments (required).
• Preferred exposure to precision machining, job shop, aerospace, medical device, defense, or industrial manufacturing.
• Fluency in production workflows, manufacturing scheduling, and material planning.
• Proven ability to juggle competing priorities and large volumes of open jobs.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for tracking, reporting, and data analysis.
• Meticulous data discipline across multiple systems.
• Proactive risk identification, effective escalation, and cross‑functional resolution.
• Strong communicator across production, supervision, engineering, purchasing, and leadership.
• Self‑directed with urgency and accountability.
