Staff Accountant

Position Overview The Staff Accountant will play a key role in supporting day-to-day accounting operations, monthly financial close activities, and financial planning initiatives. Working closely with senior finance leadership, this position offers hands‑on experience across multiple accounting functions and provides excellent opportunities for professional growth within the renewable energy industry. Key Responsibilities Manage the full accounts payable process, including invoice processing, coding, and allocation across multiple entities and projects. Coordinate vendor onboarding, including collecting tax documentation, maintaining vendor records, processing payment information, and supporting annual tax reporting. Review accounts payable aging and prepare ACH and wire payments for approval. Assist with monthly financial close activities, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and financial reporting. Allocate project costs across multiple entities in accordance with internal accounting policies. Support accounting activities within a multi‑entity structure, including intercompany transactions and consolidations. Prepare audit schedules and assist with external audit and tax requests. Manage compliance filings across federal, state, and local jurisdictions, including annual reports and sales/use tax filings. Assist with financial reporting and compliance requirements for investors and financing partners. Support cash forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis. Contribute to process improvements, internal controls, accounting system enhancements, and cross‑functional projects. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. 0–3 years of accounting experience (experience within a project‑based or multi‑entity environment is beneficial). Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and fundamental accounting principles. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment. Self‑motivated with a proactive approach and strong attention to detail. Eagerness to learn and develop professionally. An interest in renewable energy, infrastructure, or sustainability is highly desirable. Ability to work on‑site Monday through Thursday in Sausalito, CA.
