This role is responsible for analyzing, monitoring, and reporting manufacturing costs to support operational and financial decision-making. This role partners closely with operations, supply chain, engineering, and finance teams to ensure accurate product costing, inventory valuation, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. The Senior Cost Accountant plays a key role in identifying cost-saving opportunities, improving financial controls, and driving operational efficiency.**What you will be doing:*** Analyze standard costs, inventory transactions, and manufacturing variances to ensure accurate product costing and financial reporting.* Perform month-end close activities, including cost allocations, inventory reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analysis.* Prepare and maintain cost, inventory, margin, and profitability reports to support operational and strategic decision-making.* Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes by providing cost analysis and manufacturing insights.* Coordinate and support cycle counts, physical inventories, and audit requirements while ensuring compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.* Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities, process improvements, and efficiencies across manufacturing and supply chain operations.* Review bills of materials (BOMs), labor routings, and overhead rates to maintain accurate standard costs.* Partner with operations, supply chain, engineering, and finance teams to evaluate performance, improve cost visibility, and drive profitability initiatives.* Assist with capital project analysis, inventory management initiatives, and other ad hoc financial analyses as needed.* Other duties as assigned.## Qualifications**Required Education and Experience:*** Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.* 5+ years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.* Strong knowledge of standard costing, inventory accounting, and variance analysis.* Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.* CPA or CMA preferred.* Strong attention to detail and accuracy required.* Effective communicator able to work across all levels of the organization.* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
