Job Summary: Intensive Care Unit Cardiovascular (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN) Johnson City, New York. The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities by preventing illness and injury and alleviating suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human responses. This role ensures compliance with standards of practice and professional development in accordance with applicable regulations and professional nursing standards. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12 days, 36/week, every 3rd weekend
• Required Qualifications: Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross); Education: graduate of an accredited school of Nursing; Nursing experience requirements as stated: six (6) months to three (3) years of Nursing (RN) experience; Demonstrated experience with intensive cardiac patients (including CHF, COPD, end stage heart failure, cardiogenic shock, septic shock, and GI bleeds); Experience with CRRT, IABP, Impella, and normothermia; Stroke patient experience with thrombectomy/TNK; ICU overflow experience; Required skills include collaboration, communication (verbal and written), judgment/critical thinking, organizational understanding, planning (organizing/time management), problem solving, quality, reliability, and safety/risk management
• Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN); Relevant skills certification (e.g., Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)) as required by the assigned unit
• Additional Information: Responsibilities include assessing, planning, delegating, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for a group of patients as a primary nurse and/or accountable nurse when designated; educating patients and families using available resources; administering medications safely according to organizational policy; supporting nursing shared governance initiatives (including unit council participation and improvement initiatives); supporting professional development and mandatory education; integrating current evidence into practice; providing a supportive learning environment for new employees and students; performing Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator duties when assigned; participating in the Clinical Ladder Program as knowledge and expertise develop; and performing other duties as assigned.
