Accounting Supervisor

Ledgent Finance & Accounting is currently seeking a skilled Accounting Supervisor to join their team in Phoenix, Arizona, conveniently located by the airport. This role is integral in supervising daily accounting operations and supporting the Accounting Director in maintaining accurate financial records and internal controls. Responsibilities Supervise daily accounting operations including Accounts Payable and general ledger activities. Oversee timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices, expense reports, and payment runs. Review invoice coding, approvals, and compliance with company purchasing policies. Support the Accounting Director in maintaining accurate financial records and internal controls. Prepare month‑end close tasks including accruals, reconciliations, and journal entries. Prepare and approve account reconciliations prepared by accounting staff. Monitor AP aging and ensure timely resolution of vendor issues and discrepancies. Oversee vendor statement reconciliations and maintain strong vendor relationships. Ensure proper accounting for inventory‑related expenses, freight, and branch operational costs. Prepare monthly financial reports and variance explanations to submit to the Accounting Director for final review and approval. Help maintain and enforce accounting policies and procedures. Supervise accounting staff workload, priorities, and performance management. Train and mentor team members on accounting processes, systems, and internal controls. Assist with audit preparation, including gathering documentation and responding to requests. Monitor compliance with tax reporting requirements such as 1099 processing and record‑keeping. Review and help analyze expense trends, AP metrics, and operational costs. Support budgeting and forecasting activities. Qualifications A minimum of 5 or more years of corporate accounting experience, with 2 or more years in supervisory or management roles. Degree in Accounting preferred, but can be substituted with equivalent experience. Required Work Hours Monday to Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Benefits Competitive salary with a range of $80,000 to $90,000 per year, depending on experience. Additional Details This position is 100% in‑office in Phoenix, Arizona. The maximum pay is $90,000 and the minimum pay is $80,000.
