Location Available Location: San Francisco, CA Role Senior Solutions Engineer, Majors Accounts The Solution Engineering organization is responsible for the technical sale of the Cloudflare solution portfolio, ensuring maximal business value, fit-for-purpose solution design, and an adoption roadmap for our customers. This is a Senior level, customer-facing technologist role within the Cloudflare Solutions Engineering team. You will have strong experience in large account pre-sales management and excellent verbal and written communications suited for executive-level engagement. You will speak about Cloudflare’s vision with C-level customer executives, build champions within technology ranks, drive sales for identified opportunities, and develop a revenue pipeline with opportunities that do not yet exist. You will work within a high-profile pursuit team dedicated to strategic accounts, in close collaboration with majors account executives attached to those accounts. Responsibilities Build and maintain long-term technical relationships with technical buyers at assigned accounts, becoming a trusted advisor to stakeholders. Understand business-critical issues and provide solution designs to facilitate technical validation of Cloudflare within the customer’s infrastructure, coordinating with Cloudflare teams throughout the sales cycle. Identify and drive technical conversations across lines of business to uncover new revenue opportunities and demonstrate value across all parts of the account. Help customers define security and network transformation strategies and architect necessary security controls aligned with Cloudflare product suites. Represent the voice of the customer internally, engaging with Product and Engineering to meet customer needs. Evangelize Cloudflare externally at Developer, Community, Technology, Cybersecurity, and industry events with thought leadership and expertise. Qualifications & Skills Polished communication and executive presentation skills, with the ability to drive discussions with a broad range of stakeholders from web developers to CISOs. Proven ability to build deep technical relationships with engineers and senior executives in large/strategic accounts; experience managing stakeholder relationships to build consensus on security solutions. Experience managing technical sales within large accounts. Developing champion-style relationships, driving technical wins, and assisting with technical validation. Deep understanding of core Cloudflare solution components and a desire to learn more: Internet security technologies (DDoS, Firewalls, TLS, VPN, DLP); networking (TCP/UDP, DNS, IPv4/IPv6, BGP, GRE, SD-WAN, MPLS, Global Traffic Management); technologies (reverse proxy, WAF, CDN, forward proxy); Zero-trust (ZTNA & SASE); cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure); scripting or programming experience (JavaScript, Python, Go, Bash). Understanding of regulatory requirements (e.g., FedRAMP, GDPR, PCI DSS, HIPAA, SOC-2, ISO/IEC) or related experience. Compensation & Benefits Compensation may be adjusted based on location. San Francisco: $221,000–$271,000; Los Angeles: $211,000–$257,000. This role is eligible for incentive compensation under Cloudflare’s Sales Compensation Plan; estimated on-target incentive may be earned as part of the annual salary range.
