Responsibilities
- Conduct triage and primary assessment for patients across all ages, identifying urgent and emergent needs and prioritizing care per established standards.
- Provide direct patient care in the ED, including monitoring, administering treatments, and performing invasive and non-invasive procedures as appropriate.
- Reassess patient status frequently, respond to changes, and coordinate rapid interventions for deteriorating conditions.
- Communicate clearly with patients, families, and the care team; provide education, discharge instructions, and referrals for post-emergency care.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary staff to ensure patient safety, infection prevention practices, and adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes; maintain patient care boards and ensure smooth transitions to subsequent care settings.

Requirements
- Active New York State Registered Nurse license
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and Stroke Certification (AHA or RQI)
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the Emergency Department
- Minimum of 1 year of acute hospital nursing experience
- Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced ED environment and support holiday rotation
