- Receive service orders on a daily basis from the utility office, and close out orders.
- Connect and disconnect meters.
- Perform read-outs or read-ins.
- Walk or drive truck over established route.
- Inspect meters and connections for defects, damage, and unauthorized connections.
- Indicate irregularities on forms for necessary action by servicing department.
- Responsible for ensuring that company vehicles and equipment receive the proper care and maintenance.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Related experience or training.
- Current Driver's License and clean driving record.
- General phone and computer knowledge.
- 1+ year gas construction experience.
- General understanding of gas appliances, wrenches and pipe fittings.
- Meter Service Technician certificate.
