Corporate Controller

The Controller is responsible for the overall financial management, reporting, and accounting operations for three business entities operating under a shared LLC structure. This role provides strategic financial oversight while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, supporting business planning, and leading the accounting team. The Controller serves as a trusted business partner to leadership, delivering timely financial insights that support sound business decisions across all entities. General Responsibilities Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process for all three business entities, ensuring timely and accurate reporting. Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, management reports, and key financial metrics. Develop and maintain customer‑specific and business unit profit and loss statements to support operational and strategic decision‑making. Prepare inventory reporting and oversee inventory accounting processes to ensure valuation accuracy and reporting integrity. Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and provide recommendations to improve profitability and operational efficiency. Assist leadership with annual budgeting, routine forecasting, and long‑range financial planning. Accounting & Compliance Oversee all tax reporting activities, coordinating with external tax advisors as necessary to ensure timely and accurate filings. Serve as the primary contact for the annual financial statement audit, coordinating schedules, documentation, and auditor requests. Act as the lead financial contact for licensor royalty audits and ensure accurate royalty reporting and compliance. Coordinate all business insurance matters, including renewals, coverage analysis, claims support, and relationships with brokers and carriers. Establish, maintain, and continuously improve internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy. Ensure appropriate segregation of duties and accounting controls across all financial processes. Evaluate accounting procedures and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce risk, and support organizational growth. Leadership & Team Development Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team by providing coaching, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities. Prioritize workload, allocate responsibilities, and ensure deadlines are consistently met. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and exceptional customer service within the finance function. Cross‑Functional Partnership Partner with executive leadership and department managers to provide financial guidance and support business initiatives. Participate in strategic planning, financial analysis, and special projects as assigned. Perform other duties and responsibilities as required to support the business. Skills and Abilities Strong knowledge of general accounting principles. Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems. Ability to interpret financial data and communicate complex information to non‑financial stakeholders. Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy. Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities across several business entities while meeting deadlines. High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion when handling confidential information. Education/Experience Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance and 5+ years professional/managerial experience. Intermediate Microsoft Office experience, specifically with Excel. Physical Requirements This role requires communication effectively in person, by phone, and electronically. This role requires navigation of multiple screens for several hours at a time.
