Senior Benefits Analyst

Creighton University is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Benefits Analyst to join our Human Resources team. This Senior Benefits Analyst is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the University’s employee benefits programs, leave of absence administration, disability processes, benefits systems, and employee support. This role will also help lead the Annual Open Enrollment process, manage critical vendor partnerships, and ensure operational excellence, compliance, and a positive employee experience aligned with Creighton’s Jesuit, Catholic mission and strategic initiatives. Key ResponsibilitiesBenefits Program Support and Administration:Support leadership by gathering plan data, analyzing trends, and identifying opportunities for consideration in plan design and vendor discussions.Manage monthly benefits billing and tracking, reconcile vendor invoices against enrollment records, and work with vendors, Payroll, and Finance to resolve discrepancies.Leave Management and Compliance:Own leave management and administer leaves of absence in ADP across multiple states, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, short- and long-term disability, and University leave programs.Process and audit leave requests and documentation, monitor applicable federal, state, and local requirements, and recommend procedure updates in partnership with HR leadership and Legal.Work closely with the HR generalist team, Payroll, and vendors to coordinate employee support, benefits continuation, premium payments, and return-to-work transitions.Guide employees and managers on leave options, procedures, and next steps while managing multiple cases and deadlines.Administer the Vacation Donation Program and CURA Fund Program, including requests, eligibility review, tracking, and coordination with Payroll and the HR generalist team.Under the guidance of leadership, support benefits program compliance with applicable requirements, including ERISA, HIPAA, ACA, FMLA, and COBRA.Vendor Relationship Management:Serve as a day-to-day liaison for benefits and leave vendors, resolve service discrepancies, and monitor service quality.Support vendor performance reviews and develop processes that improve efficiency for employees, HR, and vendor partners.Employee Education and Engagement:In concert with Creighton’s mission, conduct educational sessions, webinars, and benefits fairs to improve employee understanding of available programs.Answer routine and complex benefits and leave questions and develop resources that support employees through life events and transitions.Data and Systems Integrity:Maintain accurate benefits and retirement data across Oracle HCM, ADP, and vendor platforms, and support integrations, reporting, and data quality.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.7–10 years of progressively responsible experience administering comprehensive benefits programs and managing leaves of absence, including experience with medical, dental, vision, retirement, life, and disability programs.Working knowledge of ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, FMLA, ADA, COBRA, and applicable leave requirements.Proficiency with HRIS and benefits platforms, including Oracle HCM, ADP, or comparable systems.Strong analytical judgment and attention to detail to assess benefits and leave matters, identify compliance concerns, recommend workable solutions, and manage competing priorities and deadlines.Clear communication skills and experience supporting employees, managers, and internal stakeholders through complex benefits or leave matters.Experience delivering benefits education and employee engagement programs.Preferred CertificationsCertified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS)Certified Benefits Professional (CBP)About CreightonAt Creighton, we offer meaningful work driven by a 475-year-old Jesuit tradition committed to social justice and serving others.
