Job Title: Trade Compliance Specialist
Location: Elma, NY
Job Type: Contract
Job Summary
We are seeking a Trade Compliance Specialist to support export/import compliance activities in a technical manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have experience with trade compliance, export documentation, classification, denied party screening, and preferably SAP GTS.
Responsibilities
Assist with export license applications and related documentation.
Support employees with foreign travel and export compliance concerns and foreign visitor requirements.
Review shipping/export documentation and assist with commodity and technology classifications .
Perform denied party/sanctioned party screening and communicate results.
Enter and maintain classification data in ERP and technology databases .
Support trade compliance projects through data collection, organization, and analysis .
Perform SAP GTS activities, including Business Partner releases, screening releases, and data entry.
Review business emails for trade compliance matters and escalate potential violations.
Assist with compliance investigations and other departmental projects as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree preferred.
3+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing, engineering, contracts, logistics, supply chain, or trade compliance.
Exposure to import/export compliance concepts and processes .
Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to work with technical information.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Skills
Knowledge of ITAR, EAR, and OFAC regulations.
Experience with SAP/SAP GTS .
Experience with OCR EASE, SNAP-R, or DECCS .
Experience with denied party screening, export licensing, and commodity/technology classification.
Aerospace, defense, or highly regulated manufacturing experience is a plus.
