Human Resources Specialist

We are a fast-growing emergency service company in North Phoenix looking for a high-energy, proactive Human Resources Specialist to support our busy office. We operate in a fast-paced environment that requires sharp intuition, clear communication, and decisive action when managing employee relations, interviews, and onboarding. Role Overview In this role, you will lead recruiting efforts specifically tailored to sourcing, interviewing, and hiring skilled Automotive Mechanics, Technicians, and Service Support staff, while providing generalist HR support to our team. Key Responsibilities Targeted Recruiting & Sourcing: Actively recruit experienced auto mechanics, master technicians, and service advisors through trade job boards, local technical schools, automotive networks, and passive sourcing channels. Screening & Interviewing: Conduct initial phone screens and structured interviews to evaluate technical background, certifications (ASE preferred), diagnostic experience, and cultural fit. Onboarding & Offboarding: Facilitate new hire orientation, manage background checks and drug screens, complete I-9 verification, and ensure a seamless entry process for incoming mechanics. Employee Relations & Support: Act as a responsive point of contact for day-to-day employee inquiries regarding company policies, benefits, and workplace needs. HR Administration: Maintain accurate employee records, assist with payroll coordination, and maintain compliance with local, state, and federal labor regulations. Qualifications 2+ years of HR or recruiting experience (experience recruiting in automotive, skilled trades, manufacturing, or service industries strongly preferred). Familiarity with mechanic skill levels, ASE certifications, and automotive shop environments. Strong interpersonal skills with natural insight when dealing with applicants, technicians, and shop management. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and execute in a high-volume, fast-moving setting. Proficiency with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and HR software.
