Director of Capture Management

Location The desired location for the Director of Capture Management is Wood Dale, IL. Potential accommodations may be made to facilitate virtual performance of duties. Summary The Director of Capture Management leads capture efforts, oversees capture managers, conducts market analysis, and devises strategies to win contracts supporting DoD, US/foreign governments, and OEMs. This leader collaborates with internal stakeholders, defense contractors, prime contractors, and OEMs to develop executable support and sustainment strategies that reduce life‑cycle costs for the customer while achieving reasonable profit for AAR. Responsibilities Win contracts supporting DoW, US/foreign governments, and OEMs, and develop strategies to grow these markets. Collaborate across AAR’s functional staff and other business units to generate cost‑effective winning capture strategies. Develop and support a capture pipeline aligned with AAR strategic goals. Recommend business and marketing strategies to achieve maximum penetration consistent with company financial objectives. Prepare customer and internal presentations. Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values, and culture of AAR. Ensure all capture activity complies with governmental laws and AAR’s ethical standards. Qualifications 8 years of related professional experience in defense or the defense industry, with a focus on Product Support and Integration, Engineering Services, CLS, and/or supply chain management. Knowledge of Shipley Capture and Proposal Management processes. Ability to obtain up to Top Secret level clearance. Master’s degree (M.A.) or equivalent; or fifteen years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Year One Critical Success Factors Lead end‑to‑end capture efforts for assigned opportunities. Drive consistent adherence to standardized capture and proposal SOPs. Apply AAR’s structured capture methodology consistently. Produce compliant, compelling, on‑time, high‑quality capture artifacts. Compensation The anticipated salary range for this position is $200,000 to $215,000 annually. This range reflects the base salary for candidates meeting the role’s requirements, including experience, education, and location. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for a bonus.
