LEGACY EARLY COLLEGE OVERVIEW Legacy Early College is a K4-12 public charter school that originated through the vision of businessman William Brown in2009 with an unwavering focus on To and Through College at every grade level. Legacys model combines academics,nutrition, physical fitness and mental health. In addition to our college driven academic standards, meals are made on site,scholars participate in PE every day and Social-Emotional Literacy is integrated in the culture and curriculum. Legacy EarlyCollege offers a schedule that is virtually unheard of in the private sector. The Payroll Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll and managing employee leave requests within Legacy Early College. This position is responsible for handling all aspects of payroll administration and leave management, ensuring compliance with district policies and state and federal regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a deep understanding of payroll systems. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Duties Oversee the maintenance of employees records within our current HRIS (UKG).Organize and process all employee information and paperwork within the HRIS, including but not limited to compensation, payroll, leave, and benefits.Process payroll by collecting, calculating, and entering data in the payroll system.Assure compliance with applicable federal and state compliance reporting through the various internal channel provided.Report employment status and updates to the South Carolina Public Charter School District Human Resources department.Assist with report generation, maintenance, and distribution.Verifies the accuracy of data through audits and query generation.Serve as the primary point of contact to answer general Payroll/Leave inquiries and respond to questions or concerns timely and accurately.Support the development of user procedures and guidelines.Communicate with employees regarding their needs for leave and/or modified work schedules.Ensures that employees are aware of their responsibilities and of any documentation and notice required to qualify for and take leave.Oversees the return-to-work process for employees returning from extended FMLA, workers compensation, or other leave(s).Administers other company time-off programs as assigned in accordance with internal policy and applicable laws.Preserves confidentiality of employee medical documentation and employee information.Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications College degree preferred, but not requiredExperience in K4-12 school setting, preferredCPP certification, preferredCollaborative team player: comfortable leading and executing projects as requiredOutstanding organizational skills and high attention to detailExcellent written and oral communication skills Requirements: 3+ years of experience in payroll and benefits.Proficiency in HRIS systems (Preference for UKG Ready).A passion for "clean" and auditing.Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred but not required. Work Schedule This operates on the 240-day schedule based on the Legacy Early College centralized calendar. The "Life-Balance" Benefit Advantage: 5 Weeks of Full School Closures: Fully paid time off during Thanksgiving, Winter, andSpring breaks.Summer Fridays Off: Enjoy 4-day work weeks while the school is closed for the summer.17 Paid Time Off Days: Plus 10 Paid Holidays.Total: Between school closures, summer Fridays, and PTO, you will have nearly 12weeks of time off or reduced schedules to recharge. Compensation Package All staff may participate in a 401k with matching employer contributions and have access to the fitness center. Full time staffalso qualify for state (PEBA) benefits (medical, vision, dental) and may have up to 10 personal days (80 hours) and 5 vacationdays (40 hours) available per academic year. Physical Demands The physical demands characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by the employee tosuccessfully perform the essential functions of this job. Long periods of standing and sitting and having the ability to lift items up to 25lbs. is required.Position might require travel.Periodic participation in activities to support Legacy Early College is required. Position will have periods of extended work week hours, which isrequired to support both the ongoing development of the region and the delivery of high-quality education for all students.
