Designer / 3D Modeler – Cincinnati, Ohio LifeFormations specializes in the design and fabrication of animatronic figures, sculpted elements, exhibits, and interactive experiences for leading theme parks, museums, science centers, and entertainment spaces worldwide. Responsibilities Design integration of composite surfaces to structures, mechanisms, soft goods, etc. Prepare models informed by real‑world mechanical designs. Design the exterior surfaces of animatronics using both 3D and 2D programs. Provide 3D assets ready for additive or subtractive processes to the production team. Maintain constant communication with mechanical and production teams. Requirements Experience with product development and design, 3D modeling, and design thinking. Proficiency in SolidWorks, Rhino, and Photoshop (or equivalent); experience with ZBrush is a plus. Iterative and creative problem‑solving approach. Proactive, able to work on multiple projects concurrently in a fast‑paced, energetic environment. Ability to make necessary adjustments quickly while complying with art direction from supervisors and clients. Knowledge of mesh modeling versus solid modeling. Experience with 3D printing; understanding of molding and casting is a plus. Mechanical inclination is a plus. Willingness to follow design through production and troubleshoot with team members when obstacles arise. Hands‑on ability with designed parts and troubleshoot design flaws.
