Our client, a privately held manufacturing client is conducting a confidential search for an experienced CNC Lathe Operator/Set-Up Technician to join their team on a full-time basis. This critical role involves setting up and operating CNC lathe machines, performing precision inspections to ensure quality standards, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate Okuma CNC Lathe machines.
• Read and interpret blueprints, including GD&T symbols.
• Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, thread rings, gage pins, chamfer checkers, and optical comparators.
• Utilize hand tools including allen wrenches, box wrenches, screwdrivers, and other specialty tools to maintain and repair CNC lathes.
• Complete quality control paperwork to ensure parts meet print tolerances.
• Offset tooling and adjust chuck to maintain product specifications.
• Change tooling and inserts as needed.
• Set drill and boring bar lengths and centerlines.
• Troubleshoot machine problems and make necessary adjustments.
• Identify and report or resolve safety hazards.
• Follow all company policies and procedures.
• Work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in a machine shop setting, including CNC lathe setup and operation.
• Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• High level of integrity and a strong work ethic.
• 3-5 years of CNC lathe setup and operation experience.
