Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations for patients of all ages, utilizing both standardized assessments and observational practices.
- Craft individualized treatment plans to meet diverse communication, cognitive, and swallowing goals.
- Engage in one-on-one therapy sessions focused on a range of needs including language, fluency, voice, and swallowing interventions.
- Work closely with a multi-disciplinary team including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, and families to create a well-rounded care approach.
- Provide education for patients and family members to foster continued progress beyond clinical settings.
- Participate in occasional inpatient speech therapy assessments and interventions to ensure seamless patient care.
- Keep precise and timely documentation that aligns with all applicable regulations and standards.
- Enhance your practice through ongoing education and collaboration with peers.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
- Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) in progress towards obtaining ASHA certification.
- Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within the first month of employment.
- Expertise in evidence-based practices across all age groups, with a deep understanding of speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills for effective interaction with patients, their families, and the interdisciplinary team.
- Ability to tailor therapy approaches to fit culturally and linguistically diverse populations.
- Keen clinical judgment and problem-solving prowess.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation procedures.
