Registered Nurse 2 – Holding/PACU Registered Nurse 2 is responsible for delivering patient-family centered care in a culturally competent manner, ensuring quality, safety, and service while overseeing nurses and allied health staff. Responsibilities Assess patients, evaluate and document nursing care, and report changes in condition and vital signs. Modify treatment plans based on patient response, condition, and physician orders. Review, evaluate, and report diagnostic tests to assess patient condition. Consult with physicians and other healthcare professionals to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans. Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments. Provide psychological support and ensure a compassionate environment. Perform appropriate patient tests and administer medications within scope of practice. Maintain accurate medication and treatment records per regulatory bodies, policies, and physician orders. Communicate plan of care timely to patients, families, and team members, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines such as HIPAA. Assist with discharge planning using available resources. Plan, prioritize, and adjust assignments to accomplish goals and deliver superior patient care; seek assistance when needed. Safely operate medical equipment. Serve as preceptor and assist new staff in acclimating to the healthcare environment. Adhere to university and unit-level policies and safeguard university assets. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited institution (ACEN and/or CCNE). Experience: Minimum 2 years of relevant experience. Certification and Licensing: Valid State of Florida RN license; BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Learning agility – ability to learn new procedures, technologies, and protocols. Teamwork – ability to work collaboratively with others. Technical proficiency – skilled in office software and relevant computer applications. Communication – strong written and verbal communication skills.
