Clinic Services Representative I - Billing Position within the Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences (RBHS) Health Center billing team. This role coordinates and manages patient accounts for the Eric B. Chandler Health Center and affiliated sites, ensuring accurate billing, reporting and compliance with Medicaid and Medicare practices. Posting Summary The primary purpose of the CSRI‑Billing position is to coordinate and manage patient accounts within the Eric B. Chandler Health Center and its affiliates. Responsibilities include planning and implementing collection procedures, maintaining billing systems, reporting, and recording. Prepare reports to identify all FQHC billable services. Generate electronic and hard‑copy insurance claims and patient statements from the Practice Management System to ensure maximum reimbursement rates. Process patient and insurance company payments. Assess the A/R report to identify delinquent patient accounts. Update and process patient insurance coverage discrepancies. Perform cashier responsibilities. Qualifications and Requirements Minimum Education and Experience : Four (4) years of office clerical experience, including three (3) years in a physician, hospital or health center billing setting, with management of multiple insurance billing processes. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities : Familiarity with Medicaid and Medicare billing practices. Strong verbal communication with patients, facility staff, and over the phone. Knowledge of medical and dental terminology. Preferred Qualifications : Experience working in a Federally Qualified Health Center. Physical Demands and Work Environment : Ability to lift up to 30 pounds, stoop, bend, reach, and grasp objects. Manual dexterity and use of keyboard and video display terminal required. Clinical, laboratory or office environment with moderate noise level. Special Conditions : Evening and weekend rotation required.
