Certified Ophthalmic Assistant
The Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) uses ophthalmic techniques to perform preliminary work-ups for patients of the Beaumont Eye Institute physicians. Coordinates patient appointments with BEI clerical staff and assists in general clinic support for the Eye Clinic and Low Vision Department.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma (required)
- Clinical setting, medical office, refractive surgical suite, medical lasers and minor procedure room. (preferred)
- Minor lifting, walking, bending, standing for refractive surgery.
- Technical & surgical skills.
- Certified refractive surgical LASIK assistant.
- Surgical boarding.
- JCAHPO Certification (required)
- 6 months experience as COA (preferred)
