Job Summary and Qualifications

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) is responsible for ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care and coordinating all functions within the unit or department during their assigned shift. Working alongside other management team members, the CNC directs, monitors, and assesses nursing care in line with established policies and procedures, serves as a resource for staff, and exemplifies a commitment to the organization’s vision, mission, and values to enhance patient experiences and clinical outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

• Assisting with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient patient flow and high-quality care.
• Participating in the continuous assessment of the quality of care provided in the unit, in collaboration with the management team.
• Working with subject matter experts and other managers to foster a teamwork environment that enhances outcomes and service quality.
• Promoting a patient-first philosophy and engaging in service recovery when necessary.
• Supporting facility engagement efforts by implementing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding and hourly checks.
• Providing input on interviewing, selecting, and training new staff, and recommending actions related to training, conflict resolution, and performance evaluations.
• Assisting with staff scheduling and managing labor aspects in accordance with patient care needs and productivity guidelines.
• Ensuring proper inventory control and assisting in managing supplies and equipment.

Qualifications Required

Experience:

• Minimum of 1 year of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN).

Education:

• Associate’s degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.

Licenses and Certifications:

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Texas or a Compact Registered Nursing License (Texas license must be obtained within 90 days of hire).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification as required by our healthcare policy.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification as required by our healthcare policy.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification as required by our healthcare policy.
• Registered Nurse, Certified in Inpatient Obstetrics (RNC-OB) is preferred.
