HR Assistant | Ivory Plains Recovery Center | Adair, Iowa About the Job: The HR Assistant is responsible for a combination of routine, technical and administrative work to assist with a variety of HR functions including recruitment, orientation, benefits, licensing, training, employee recognition and filing. The role includes collecting, organizing, entering data and filing documentation, performing staff license verification and maintenance, ordering supplies for the department, and ensuring confidentiality of all data and information. Roles and Responsibilities Assists in developing and executing recruiting plans including job posting and scheduling interviews in the Applicant Tracking System. Conducts pre‑employment screening and coordinates scheduling of lab work and fingerprinting as needed. Verifies timely licensures and certifications of new employees and incumbents; documents and tracks them in HRIS. Assists new employees with completion of new hire paperwork and onboarding. Serves as a resource person and assists in the orientation of new employees. Ensures personnel files and related documents are organized, maintained, and audited to comply with standards. Creates files for new hires and purges terminated employee files according to facility policies. Collects and compiles data, enters it accurately and timely in the HRIS, and tracks staff training in the Learning Management System. Assists with day‑to‑day operations of the HR functions and duties; supports special projects and events. Processes various HR materials, including confidential forms and records such as employment, enrollment and pay changes. Maintains employee information by entering and updating employment and status‑change data. Maintains policy and procedure manuals, employee handbook, and other communications; distributes as appropriate and ensures accessibility. Ensures human resource information is kept confidential. Organizes and attends career fairs and employee events as directed. Helps to ensure benefits are consistently administered according to plan requirements, including enrollment windows and conformity to ACA. Prepares monthly reports to ensure all employees are in compliance with federal, state and licensing agency regulations. Orders supplies for the department. Education / Experience / Skill Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required. One year experience in HR in a healthcare setting preferred. Knowledge of The Joint Commission, facility licensing standards, and third‑party payor requirements is beneficial. Working knowledge of state and federal employment laws. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management, employees, and external customers. Licenses / Designations / Certifications Not applicable.
