Job purpose The HR Assistant supports the HR Manager with recruitment, onboarding of talent, and employee record keeping at K-Five Construction. Duties and responsibilities Enter, track and update all employee information into multiple software systems Initiate recruiting processes by posting jobs, reviewing resumes, and scheduling and conducting phone interviews Lead the onboarding process by communicating with new hires, preparing all related paperwork, and delivering the onboarding meetings Review and track all employee benefits including 401k, health, dental, LT disability and supplemental program Maintain the HRIS portal Attend various job fairs in the area Assist with new hire and annual open enrollment for all benefit offerings Any additional tasks or duties assigned Qualifications The ideal candidate has 1 to 3 years of relevant human resources experience Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, or comparable combination of education and experience Exceptional attention to detail; high value on confidentiality, integrity and ethics Ability to manage workflow of seasonal increase in employees and required deadlines and requirements Strong level of knowledge in Microsoft Office products Professional, positive and supportive demeanor Ability to tactfully interact with all levels within the organization About Us K-Five Construction is a fourth-generation family-owned business based in Chicagoland.
