This position may function as liaison between the line of business and the Information Technology (IT) department.Primary ResponsibilitiesFormulates/defines specifications for operating software programming applications or modifies/maintains complex existing applications using engineering releases and utilities from programsAnalyzes and evaluates existing or proposed systems and devises computer programs, systems, and related procedures to process dataPrepares charts and diagrams to assist in problem analysis and submits recommendations for solutionPrepares program specifications and diagrams and develops coding logic flowchartsEncodes, tests, debugs, and installs the operating programs and procedures in coordination with computer operations and user departmentsReviews progress and evaluates resultsReports inconsistencies to the attention of management and suggest problem resolutions and business process improvementsCertain business groups may require on call support rotation after hours and/or weekendsThis position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.RequirementsHigh School Diploma or GED and seven (7) years of related experienceOr Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of related experiencePreferencesBanking or financial services industry experienceExperience providing application support to include troubleshootingExperience with business intelligence toolsFamiliarity with agile and/or waterfall methodologiesSkills and CompetenciesAbility to plan, schedule and execute multiple concurrent activitiesAbility to work in a team environmentActively demonstrates a complex working knowledge of systems and software development concepts, practices, and proceduresAbility to research, analyze data, and derive factsExcellent communication and customer service skillsExcellent organizational and analytical skillsKnowledge of applicable testing toolsProblem solving and priority management skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)Preferred Skills/Experience :SQL ExperienceFamiliarity with agile methodologiesExperience with user interface (UI) testingThis position is intended to be onsite, now or in the near future in Hoover, AL. Associates will have regular work hours, including full days in the office three or more days a week. The manager will set the work schedule for this position, including in-office expectations.
