Garden Coordinator- Part-Time

Job Description Part Time Garden Coordinator JOB GOAL: Work in collaboration with educators and students to introduce healthy choices made by items grown in the garden. This will provide an understanding of where food comes from by encouraging teamwork, collaborating through problem solving, building their level of self-confidence, increasing their physical activity levels, and learning important life skills through planting activities. Responsibilities Work with provided curriculum as directed by the administrators of the New Bedford Public School District. Use program systems for sustainable upkeep and maintenance of gardens at District schools/Central Kitchen by working with students and community partners. Work with students by planting and growing fruits and vegetables to create social, emotional, physical, and behavioral skills to successfully navigate life experiences through healthy living and food choices. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Knowledge of gardens, planting and working with food. Strong communication skills and desire to build positive relationships with students and families. Position Details Position Type: Part‑Time Salary: $20 to $25 per hour Location: PRAB (work location varies) Reports to: Food Services Director or designee Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
