About the Role
The Company is seeking a Senior Assistant General Counsel for Transactions to join its dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for independently reviewing, structuring, drafting, and negotiating a wide range of contracts and transactions, with a focus on professional services, technology, equipment leases, educational services, and supply contracts. This role requires a legal professional with a Juris Doctorate, a Bachelor's degree, and a minimum of 5 years' of relevant commercial contracting experience, including at least 2 years' of supervisory experience. The Senior Assistant General Counsel will also provide ongoing legal counsel, mentor junior staff, and ensure compliance with public procurement laws and organizational policies. Applicants for the Senior Assistant General Counsel position at the company should have expert-level experience in commercial contract drafting and negotiations, particularly in the areas of technology and data agreements. The role demands a candidate with strong leadership, team-building, and communication skills, as well as the ability to manage a high volume of legal matters with limited supervision. The ideal candidate will have a background in in-house counsel within a public agency and experience as a corporate generalist in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
