Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Tax Manager to lead and review complex tax engagements while providing strategic tax planning and advisory support to clients. This position will oversee individual, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns, ensure compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations, and identify opportunities to optimize clients' tax positions.

The ideal candidate will have strong public accounting experience, advanced knowledge of federal and state taxation, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to independently manage client relationships and complex tax matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and review complex tax engagements for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts.
• Oversee tax compliance and preparation activities to ensure accurate and timely filing.
• Develop and implement tax planning strategies aligned with clients' financial objectives.
• Research and interpret federal and state tax laws, regulations, and emerging tax developments.
• Identify tax-saving opportunities and provide practical recommendations to clients.
• Review complex tax returns and resolve technical tax issues.
• Serve as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for assigned clients.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to tax professionals and internal team members.
• Coordinate with accounting and other internal teams to ensure efficient delivery of client services.
• Communicate complex tax concepts clearly to clients and team members.
• Maintain strong documentation and ensure compliance with professional standards and regulatory requirements.
• Manage multiple engagements, deadlines, and priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and client service.

Qualifications

• Several years of progressive tax experience in public accounting or a similar professional services environment.
• Prior supervisory or managerial experience overseeing tax engagements and staff.
• Strong tax planning and advisory experience with the ability to develop strategies that optimize client tax positions.
• Extensive experience preparing and reviewing complex individual, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns.
• Strong understanding of federal and state tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
• Excellent analytical, research, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple engagements and deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to explain complex tax matters in a clear and understandable manner.
• Experience with tax preparation, tax research, accounting, and document management software.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment with a high degree of professionalism and independence.
• Strong commitment to confidentiality, integrity, and exceptional client service.
• CPA license preferred.
• Advanced degree in accounting, taxation, or a related field is a plus.
