Position: Senior Tax Manager
Location: San Clemente, CA – Hybrid
Employment: Full-Time or Part-Time
Salary: Based on experience
Relocation: Available
Start Date: ASAP
About the Role
The Senior Tax Manager will lead the day-to-day tax department, work closely with the Managing Partner, manage and develop a team of approximately five tax professionals, and support complex tax compliance and advisory matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the tax department and team.
- Review complex individual, partnership, S-Corp, C-Corp, trust and estate tax returns.
- Provide tax planning, research, and advisory services.
- Manage tax deadlines, workflow, extensions, and client deliverables.
- Identify tax planning opportunities for high-net-worth individuals and closely held businesses.
- Support multi-state, real estate, business transaction, and estate/trust tax matters.
- Mentor and develop tax staff.
- Work directly with leadership on complex client matters and planning opportunities.
- Help improve tax processes, technology, workflow, and quality controls.
- Utilize modern tax technology and AI-assisted research tools.
Ideal Background
- CPA license strongly preferred.
- 8+ years of progressive public accounting tax experience.
- Current or previous Tax Manager/Senior Tax Manager experience.
- Strong experience with individual and closely held business taxation.
- Experience reviewing complex tax returns.
- Tax planning and advisory experience.
- Strong leadership, communication, research, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience managing and developing tax professionals.
- Comfortable working with high-net-worth individuals and business owners.
The position offers flexibility and may suit an experienced Tax Manager/Senior Tax Manager looking for either a full-time or reduced/part-time schedule .
