Junior Accountant

Job Description VGA CPA is hiring a Junior Accountant. We are looking for an individual who has some accounting experience and is eager to grow and learn within our company. Job Summary Reviews, prepares, reconciles and analyzes accounting records, financial reports and tax returns. General Accountabilities Monitors, reviews and verifies accounting records and transactions for accuracy, timeliness and adequacy of supporting documentation. Ensures compliance with internal policies, agency rules and regulations, and generally accepted accounting principles. Reviews and analyzes reports for accuracy prior to distribution. Clarifies or researches issues as necessary. Provides input for the development of accounting applications, reports, forms, records and documented procedures. Assists in development of financial projections and forecasts. Assists in assigned financial, operational, compliance and/or information systems audits. Job Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license preferred. Experience: 2-3 years of experience in public accounting, preferably with a small to mid-size CPA firm. Thorough knowledge of QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online. Experience in ProSeries and Lacerte Tax Software with knowledge in preparing Individual, Corporation, and Partnership, and Non-Profit Tax Returns. Experience in international and foreign tax law and reporting. Experience in preparing GILTI Tax & Toll Tax.
