OPEX Co-Op

Johnson & Johnson seeks an Operational Excellence Co-Op student for a one-year full-time position in Gurabo, Puerto Rico, beginning January 2027. The role involves supporting process improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to enhance safety, quality, and efficiency across manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

• Support planning and execution of process improvement activities to reduce waste and enhance flow, quality, and safety
• Collect, analyze, and visualize operational metrics to identify improvement opportunities and quantify financial impact
• Conduct root cause analysis and develop countermeasures with implementation tracking and sustainment oversight
• Create and maintain standard work, value stream maps, process documentation, and performance dashboards
• Facilitate cross-functional team meetings and prepare status updates and presentations for leadership alignment

Requirements

• Completed freshman year at accredited university; rising senior or equivalent status
• Bachelor's degree pursuit in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or Business Analytics
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with Lean and Six Sigma concepts
• Experience or comfort with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau
• Strong analytical skills, problem-solving mindset, and cross-functional collaboration abilities
• Permanent U.S. work authorization; no visa sponsorship required or eligible for future sponsorship
