Medical Assistant - Urology

Medical AssistantPosition responsible for assisting providers and the nursing team in the delivery of professional medical care. Specific duties include pre-visit planning, rooming patients, obtaining vitals, utilizing the EMR system, scanning and downloading of documents, administering injections, vaccine coordination, telephone screening (with protocols), phlebotomy, assist with procedures (as needed), and duties as assigned based on respective clinic need. Incumbent in position must have excellent customer service skills and professional demeanor at all times. May be responsible for covering front office job duties as needed.In Population Health setting:Support Physicians, Advance Practice Providers, Registered Nurses and Community Health Workers with important operational and clinical tasksDiscuss with patient, family and extended decision makers the benefits of participation with Saint Luke's At Home programsAssist Referral Specialist as needed assisting with coordinating all patient scheduling via EPIC platform for providers and multi-disciplinary care team and scheduling urgent visits for providers from on-call and during business hoursCover other Referral Specialist tasks as neededProvide an excellent patient experience by managing the flow of patients, providing excellent customer service, establishing rapport with patients and maintaining a professional demeanor.Conduct pre-visit plans prior to home visitsVitalsPhlebotomy as neededAdminister injections and coordinate vaccinesAssist providers with proceduresUtilize the EMR system and scan/download documentsComplete various administrative tasks as needed such as prior authorizations, RX refills, etc.Other duties as assignedRequires comfort conducting independent home visits and strong preference given to candidates with geriatric or primary care experience, or experience in institutional settings of care such as long-term care/skilled nursing facilitiesApplicable Experience:Less than 1 yearBasic Life Support - American Heart Association or Red CrossFull TimeDay (United States of America)
