About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director to serve as the founding operational leader of a national nonprofit organization dedicated to providing comprehensive support to those experiencing unattended grief. The successful candidate will be responsible for building the organization's infrastructure, operational systems, and early program strategy. This role demands an entrepreneurial spirit, strong operational skills, and the ability to create and implement organizational structures. The Executive Director will work closely with the Board of Directors and the Founder to establish policies, governance practices, and staffing plans, and will be instrumental in the strategic planning and launch of various grief support programs. Applicants for the Executive Director position at the company should have a minimum of 7-10 years' of nonprofit leadership experience, with a proven track record in organizational development, financial management, and external relations. The role requires a leader who is both a builder and a strategist, capable of translating the organization's vision into operational reality. Sensitivity to grief and loss is essential, as is the ability to maintain professional boundaries and a leadership focus. The ideal candidate will be adept at cultivating partnerships, engaging with philanthropic supporters, and advancing advocacy priorities. A Bachelor's degree is required, with a preference for an advanced degree in a related field, and experience in fundraising is valued.
