Registered Nurse (RN) – IMC / PCU / Stepdown

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a combined Stepdown and Medical-Surgical floor unit with 32 total beds, maintaining nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:3 (Stepdown) and 1:4–6 (Floor)
• Manage a typical MedSurg patient population including chest pain, COPD, altered mental status, pneumonia, UTI, abdominal pain, overflow admissions, and GIP Hospice patients
• Administer and monitor titratable drips in the Stepdown setting; manage PCAs, heparin, and similar set-rate infusions on the floor
• Read and interpret telemetry strips in coordination with telemetry monitor technicians who continuously monitor patients
• Collaborate with a free charge nurse, house supervisor, and nursing aide team to deliver safe, effective patient care
• Adhere to weekend requirements (2 weekends per schedule) and integrate into the existing holiday scheduling rotation

Required Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in West Virginia or a compact state
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry/cardiac monitor strips
• Experience in a Stepdown, PCU, IMC, or Medical-Surgical setting
• COVID-19 vaccination required (full vaccination series); medical or religious exemption requests must be submitted for review and approval

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience managing titratable drips in a stepdown or intermediate care environment
• Familiarity with hospice or general inpatient palliative care patient populations
• Comfort with floating to other floor or stepdown units as needed
