Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN Case Manager for a day-shift position requiring CA RN licensure and case management/utilization review expertise.

Details

• Case Management department within a hospital setting
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• Monday through Friday with no weekends
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active RN license in California
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred
• Minimum 2 years of recent relevant experience required
• Broad knowledge of healthcare delivery and case management within a managed care environment
• Comprehensive knowledge of Utilization Review, levels of care, and observation status
• Familiarity with healthcare reimbursement systems including HMO, PPO, PPS, and CMS preferred
• Working knowledge of regulations affecting case management practice, including CMS, Title 22, CHA Consent Manual, CDPH, and TJC
• Knowledge of post-acute levels of care and associated regulatory compliance preferred
• General understanding of coding and DRG assignment process preferred
• Intermediate computer and technology skills
• Strong verbal, written, and negotiation communication skills

• Local candidates accepted at the local rate
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Returning travelers must have a 1-year separation before reapplying
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract
• Holiday coverage required, with only 1 holiday allowed off per contract (New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day)
