Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Job Summary:
Seeking an experienced RN to provide specialized care on a Medical-Surgical Stroke Stepdown unit. The ideal candidate will manage adult patients with diverse neurological and general medical conditions, ensuring quality patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Administer comprehensive nursing care to adult stroke and medical-surgical patients.
• Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions, including neurological status and vital signs.
• Operate and troubleshoot specialty equipment such as IV pumps, feeding tubes, and N/G tubes.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, including proper use of EMR systems like EPIC.
• Maintain accurate documentation and facilitate patient education.

Qualifications:

• Current NY RN license with active registration.
• Valid NY State driver’s license matching address demographics.
• BLS and NIHSS certifications; NIH required for unit (can be obtained prior to start).
• Minimum of 2 years of recent MS with stroke stepdown experience.
• Demonstrated travel or float experience in acute care settings.
• Must have current AHA BLS, NIHSS, and NURSYS report verification.
