Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/28/2026 Duration: 20 weeks 48 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Job Opportunity – Medical/Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse – North Carolina Start Date: September 28, 2026 Location: Wilmington, North Carolina Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants Schedule: Night shift, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM; 36 or 48-hour weekly contracts available; 13-20 week assignment; Every other weekend required; Patient ratio 1:6 Highlights Medical/Surgical Telemetry unit with 36 beds treating diverse patient diagnoses including diabetes, pneumonia, COPD, sepsis, CHF, renal failure, surgical recovery cases, and more Comprehensive skill set required including dysrhythmia interpretation and management, remote telemetry monitoring, central line care, respiratory support (BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula), and wound care/wound vac management Self-scheduling with up to 7 days of approved time off per contract 24-hour unit orientation with strong interdisciplinary support including PT, respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and social services Epic charting system experience preferred; Pyxis medication management utilized May float to main campus location as needed; storm team/hurricane team assignment required Requirements Active North Carolina or Compact State RN license Minimum 2 years of recent Medical/Surgical or Telemetry nursing experience required BLS and NIHSS certifications required ACLS and Telemetry certifications preferred Must pass EKG testing prior to start date Proficiency in IV starts and maintenance, blood product administration, phlebotomy, PICC line management, and central/peripheral line care Experience with non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, isolation precautions, and feeding tube management Previous charge experience preferred Willingness to work major holidays and participate in emergency preparedness protocols Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only) Why It's a Great Opportunity This position offers the chance to work in a dynamic telemetry environment where you'll utilize advanced clinical skills while caring for a diverse patient population.
