Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/21/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 48 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Job Opportunity Position Overview We are currently seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our team in the Neurosurgical/Medical unit. This role requires a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, particularly in neuro surgical procedures and diagnoses. The selected candidate will work night shifts on a 3x12-hour schedule. Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care to individuals undergoing neuro surgical procedures. Monitor patient progress and respond to urgent care needs. Utilize electronic health record systems (EPIC) for documentation and communication. Administer medications through Pyxis and ensure accurate medication delivery. Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings to enhance patient care. Maintain a flexible schedule, including weekend shifts as per contract requirements. Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a medical-surgical or neuro setting. Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required; National Institutes of Health (NIH) certification preferred. Strong understanding of neuro diagnoses and surgical procedures. Ability to work in high-stress situations, including the potential for deployment during catastrophic events. Work Schedule Shifts are nights, with a 3x12-hour shift pattern (18:45 - 07:15). The RN will be expected to complete 12-16 weekend shifts throughout the contract period. Additional Information Ratios: 1 nurse for every 5-6 patients. Orientation: 2 shifts on the unit following hospital-based orientation. Blocked scheduling may be accommodated based on requests. RTO (Request Time Off) is limited to a maximum of 7 days. Providers will be assigned to a Storm/Hurricane Team and may be required to work during emergencies. Attire Scrubs must be navy in color.
