Staff Accountant

Role Description
The Staff Accountant is a full‑time, on‑site position based in Cincinnati, Ohio. This role plays a key part in supporting financial reporting, cost analysis, and operational efficiency within a manufacturing environment.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist with the month-end close and preparation of the monthly financial statements.
- Assist with interim and year-end audit.
- Assist with A/R and A/P and serve as a backup as needed.
- Analyze financial data and margins by product, identify discrepancies, and provide insight to Management.
- Assist in setting standard costs of manufactured goods and review bill of materials with Operations team.
- Analyze standard costs and review cost variances and inventory adjustments.
- Perform account reconciliations.
- Recommend opportunities for cost reduction and profit maximization.
- Review and recommend changes to processes and procedures needed for data accumulation and reporting.
- Advise management on appropriate costing based on financial data.
- Assist with the coordination of the physical inventories.
- Help implement and monitor cycle counts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
- Internship or previous manufacturing experience preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
