We are an established General Contractor with an excellent reputation in Governmental Contracts, as well as the Commercial Market, with a Project Executive opening in our Government Contracts department. We are looking for an experienced Project Executive to manage department operations and a host of projects.

The essential role of this position is to:


The Project Executive is responsible for managing the department's operations and for leading and managing a team of project managers, assistant project managers, and superintendents to deliver exceptional results for our clients. The Project Executive is an executive level position, and is expected to identify, propose, close, and manage construction projects which generate profits. s an executive, the Project Executive should lead by example.


Summary of Responsibilities:

1. Develops solutions to make sure that issues never become problems.
2. Studies bid specs carefully, looking for potential issues before the job ever starts.
3. Asks many questions and sees things that other firms miss.
4. Studies drawings in detail and asks many "what-if" questions.
5. Develops contingency plans in advance to mitigate potential risks - just in case an item on the critical path is delayed.
6. Understands the subcontractor scope and contracts, and identifies opportunities and risks.
7. Holds our subcontractors to the same standard of being Committed to Excellence.
8. Makes sure that the client never has to wonder what is happening with their job (would rather over-communicate than under-communicate).
9. Does whatever it takes to deliver on the Company's promise (we do what we say we will do, when we say we will do it).
10. Leads teams in a way to maximize the contributions of each member.
11. Builds long term relationships.
12. Ensures that every member of the team has a comprehensive Business Development plan to meet and exceed their targets.
13. Attends industry, social and non-profit events to build relationships and identify new opportunities.
14. Proactively builds and sustains relationships with targeted clients.
15. Proactively communicates with the client team at all times.
16. Proactively develops relationships with the subcontractor community.
17. Participates in Executive Team meetings as required, demonstrating a comprehensive knowledge of the status of every project under his/her control.
18. Leads a team of Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers to deliver exceptional results.
19. Recruits high-caliber personnel from outside sources.
20. Delegates the appropriate level of responsibility to team members to ensure that the project/tasks run smoothly.
21. Manages multiple project teams successfully while maximizing both profit and client satisfaction.
22. Works with on-site superintendents to deliver the highest possible quality and customer satisfaction.
23. Ensures that the punch list is completed to the client's satisfaction.
24. Ensures that the job processes are followed in accordance with policies. Proactively monitors the progress of the project through updated schedules.
25. Initiates suggestions for company-wide process improvements.
26. Teaches subordinates to identify, document and plan to avoid risk.
27. Identifies creative ways to deliver additional profit if possible.
28. Ensures accuracy in the budget projections.
29. Identifies and negotiates time extensions where justified and/or allowed.
30. Completes all activities with a pride of ownership "as if it was your name on the door."
31. Ensures Company's contractual standards are being met prior to performing work.
32. Deliver Completed projects within projected budget.
33. Other duties as assigned.

Skills required:

1. Vast experience in managing Government Construction Contracts projects with deep knowledge of the local market and subcontractors.
2. Must possess an entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to excel with limited direction.
3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
4. Proficient in CPM scheduling
5. Able to build teams
6. Must have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, and Project) and Timberline.
7. Must be self-motivated and punctual.
8. Must be able to manage multiple tasks and have excellent follow up skills both internally and externally.
9. Must be professional and polished in appearance and speech.

Basic requirements:

1. BS Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture from an accredited University.
2. 10+ years of experience in Government Contracting, with a local General Contractor.
3. History of managing multiple construction projects to ensure completed product/service is delivered on-time, within budget, and with quality and integrity.
4. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with owners, engineers, architects, estimators, subcontractors, and governmental agencies who are involved in the construction process.
