Together, we secure everything from family garages to the world’s most iconic stadiums and skyscrapers. We currently have an opening for a Staff Accountant in our Mason, Ohio location. Responsibilities include: Maintain general ledgers of relevant operation companies. Prepare all required journal entries and account reconciliations to ensure accurate and timely closings. Analyze, identify and quantify balance sheet accounts with exposure and communicate findings to management. Work with operating companies and corporate personnel to ensure proper documentation for and approval of all transactions. Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements. Assist in the review of monthly income statements, balance sheets and statements of cash flow. Identify profit potential and cash flow and RONA improvement opportunities. Monitor transactions for unusual items and, using relevant accounting literature as necessary, research those transactions. Assist in the development and maintenance of system‑generated reports and use such reports to expedite monthly closings, account analyses, and financial statement preparation. Assist in the preparation of quarterly workpapers and related variance analyses for Griffon personnel. Prepare annual audit workpapers. Maintain and update appropriate policies, procedures and related documentation. This position will interface with the plant workforce and management team as well as corporate personnel which requires strong communication and cross‑collaboration. Complete additional tasks as requested. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting At least 5‑years of financial accounting experience Comprehensive understanding of manufacturing cost accounting Practical experience with ERP systems Strong collaboration, communication and must be a self‑starter Preferred Qualifications: CPA or CMA is a plus Why Choose a Career with Us?
