Key Qualifications:

• Current Louisiana Special Education (SPED) Early Intervention (Birth-5) Certificate preferred; candidates without this certificate will still be considered.
• Experience or strong familiarity with PreK and Kindergarten curriculum and teaching best practices.
• Deep understanding of special education procedures, particularly the creation and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Clear communication skills and a compassionate approach to collaborating with students, families, and colleagues.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide instruction and support tailored to the diverse needs of PreK/Kindergarten students with exceptionalities.
• Develop, implement, and review IEPs to ensure each student receives appropriate services and accommodations.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and other team members to foster an inclusive educational setting.
• Maintain thorough documentation of student progress and required compliance paperwork.
• Communicate regularly and effectively with families about student growth and classroom activities.
