General Accountant

The General Accountant supports the day-to-day accounting operations of the Bald Head Island Club, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, member billing support, and cash handling activities. This role ensures accurate processing of financial transactions, assists with member inquiries, and helps maintain the integrity of financial records. Key Responsibilities Process vendor invoices and prepare payments in accordance with procedures Assist with accounts receivable, including posting payments and maintaining records Monitor outstanding balances and support collection efforts Assist with member billing, including dues, assessments, and club charges Respond to member inquiries regarding accounts and billing Prepare and process daily deposits, including checks and other payments Ensure accurate and timely recording of cash receipts Assist with month-end close and account reconciliations Maintain organized financial records and documentation Support internal controls and assist with audits as needed Qualifications Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred 1–3 years of accounting experience, internship, or related role Basic understanding of GAAP principles Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required Experience with accounting systems (NorthStar preferred) Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Strong communication and customer service skills Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain confidentiality Position Details Full-time, hourly position Office-based role with regular interaction with staff and members Occasional extended hours during month-end or peak periods What We Offer Competitive pay Comprehensive benefits package for eligible employees 401(k) Medical, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off and holiday pay Employee meals during scheduled shifts Ferry reimbursement or transportation assistance Employee discounts at Club outlets Professional development and advancement opportunities A collaborative, team-oriented work environment The unique experience of working in a coastal island community #J-18808-Ljbffr The Bald Head Island Club
