Take the next step in your career supporting students in a collaborative and nurturing school environment. A dedicated Special Education Teacher is needed for a full-time contract assignment in a Resource Room setting for students in grades 7–12. The position begins as soon as possible and is scheduled to run through October 1, 2026, with a strong likelihood of extending through the full academic year.
This role offers a consistent Monday–Friday schedule from 7:30 AM to 2:30 PM, providing stability while making a meaningful difference for a small group of students. You’ll have the chance to work with a supportive staff and administration, focused on student success and inclusive education.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Connecticut Special Education certification for Grades 7–12 required
- Previous school-based experience preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities
- Commitment to supporting the individual learning needs of students
- Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver small-group and individualized instruction in a Resource Room setting
- Support a caseload of approximately 10 students in grades 7–12
- Work closely with general education teachers, service providers, and families
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation
- Foster an encouraging and inclusive classroom environment
